Od kada sam saznala da sam trudna, po glavi mi se motaju ideje za prvorođendanske torte. Moje dijete će rođendan slaviti dva puta, u Zagrebu i u Malom Lošinju, a s obzirom na to da je mama luda za pečenjem kolača, moram napraviti dvije super torte. Međutim, ovaj post posvećen je Luki, našem kumčetu. Ovo je prva u nizu rođendanskih torti, koje ću peći ove godine za male bebe. Veliki je gušt smišljati dizajn i ukrase na torti.
Ova torta je katnica. Najveći izazov bio je da doći iz Novog Zagreba do Sesveta u jednom komadu, s djetetom i velikim balonom na helij u autu. Ali i to nam je uspjelo!
S obzirom na to da je donji sloj “nosivi”, nisam htjela neke lagane i prozračne kreme, a opet sam htjela da na bude “teška” i kalorijska, tako da sam se odlučila za puding od vanilije s maslacem. To je krema kakvu je moja mama redovito radila kada sam ja bila dijete. Ispala je jako ukusno! Biskvit donjeg sloja je čokoladni s kokosom. Sočan i lagan, idealno paše uz ovu kremu.
S gornjim slojem doživjela sam neuspjeh, koji me nije pokolebao, jer je ipak ispalo OK, iako nije onako kako sam zamislila. Naime, htjela sam žuti biskvit sa šarenim mrvicama. Mrvice su se rastopile i dobila sam zeleni biskvit. Da, jako je smiješno kada malo bolje razmislim ;). Krema je isto od pudinga od vanilije, ali s dodatkom šlaga. Ukrasi su kupljeni, korneti i ukrasi za sladoledne kupove, te zastavice za sendviče. Kreme su obojene bojom za kolače u gelu. Ove boje mogu se kupiti u večini prodavaonica u Hrvatskoj.
Moje je mišljenje da je za domaće torte daleko najvažnije da su najukusnije! Ispecite i ružnu tortu, ali će to ipak biti vaša torta!
Since I was pregnant, I was thinking about cakes I will bake for my son’s first birthday. He will celebrate his birthday twice, once in Zagreb, and again in Mali Lošinj. I expect to prepare two great cakes for both of his birthdays. However, this post is not about Matej’s cakes, but about Luka’s. Luka is out godson. This is the first cake in a row I will bake for the babies this year. It gives me a lot of pleasure to designe them.
Luka’s cake is a two-story cake. The biggest challenge was to transport the cake from Novi Zagreb to Sesvete with a baby and a helium balloon in the car, but we made it.
Bottom layer supports the upper one, and it had to be thicker and stronger, so I had to make thicker cream instead of fluffy and foamy one. I have decided to take my mom’s recipe and to cook a vanilla puding with butter. The sponge is chocolate and coconut, really light and delicious.
Upper layer was a disaster. But in the end it was funny and it turned out OK. I wanted to make a yellow sponge with colorful sugar crumbs, but they all melted and the sponge turned out green. When I now think about it, it is hilarious. The cream is the same vanilla puding, but with whipped cream. Decoration was bought. The cones and ice cream cup decoration were intended for the babies. Colors in the creams are also bought, gel colors.
My opinion is that the most important is to bake cakes at home, and avoid buying them. Maybe they won’t be as beautiful, but they will be homemade, and delicious.
